Award

The SBCF 2021 thesis prize was awarded to Lise Noack on the membrane identity provided by PIP4-type phospholipids in plants. Her work characterized the essential role of a kinase (PI4 kinase alpha 1) in the establishment of a PIP4 and charge gradient along the endocytic pathway. The activity of this kinase in a molecular complex is notably essential for the formation of pollen grains. Her work is notably published in The Plant Cell, 2021 (doi: 10.1093/plcell/koab135). Lise did her PhD in the laboratory “Lipid signaling in development and in interactions with the environment” under the supervision of Yvon Jallais, in the laboratory Reproduction and Development of Plants at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon.

The SBCF wishes him all the best for the continuation of his brilliant career!
