« Metabolism & Cancer Symposium » 22-23 september 2016
This meeting was the second edition of cancer metabolism related meetings organized by the regional branches (Cancéropoles Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) and Grand-Sud-Ouest (GSO) of the French National Cancer Institute (INCa).
Renewed success for the symposium which brought together 150 participants. 45 posters have been presented on the following topics: fluxomics, metabolic heterogeneity, stem cells, microenvironment, mitochondria and cell signaling.
Sessions have been designed to bring together in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere some of the leaders in the field of cancer metabolism as well as newcomers, and to foster interactions between biologists and clinicians. Young scientists were given the opportunity to present orally and discuss their new discoveries.
The best selected talk and best poster have been rewarded by ARC Foundation awards:
-> Best selected talk award: Ilaria Elia, VIB, Leuven, Belgium; “Proline metabolism supports lung metastasis formation”
-> Best poster award: Tiphaine Sancerni, Institut Cochin, Paris; “Role of the mitochondrial transporter uncoupling protein 2 (UCP2) on T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia”
