About

Agnès Wiedemann is interested in the interaction between Salmonella and the intestinal epithelial cells. Over the years, she has dissected the different mechanisms used by Salmonella to manipulate host cell pathways to invade cells. Lately, she has focused on the development of culture organoids from mouse and livestock intestine to better characterize the impact of Salmonella on the epithelium intestinal development and differentiation. Since 2020, Agnès Wiedemann joined the Digestive Health Research Institute, IRSD, Toulouse, to extend her research to the human host, allowing a comparison of the intestinal cell response to Salmonella according to the host.
