The primary tumor is located in the cerebellum. In one third of patients, a leptomeningeal metastatic dissemination is observed and the treatments to prevent it have long term sequelae for young patients. We have modelized medulloblastoma progression and dissemination in the chick embryo coupling developmental biology experimental paradigms and innovative imaging technics (clearing/lightsheet confocal microscopy). The chicken embryo recapitulates the immature environment in which this pediatric cancer develops. Our aim is to decipher the neurodevelopmental molecular mechanisms exploited by medulloblastoma cells to progress and disseminate.
