A 2-year FRM (Medical Research Foundation) funded post-doctoral position is available for a highly-motivated candidate with a strong interest in parasite cell biology and metabolism, to work in the group of Dr. Sébastien Besteiro, within the team headed by Dr. Maryse Lebrun at the DIMNP laboratory in Montpellier. Expected starting date would be July 2018.

The successful candidate will drive an exciting research project and use microbiological, cell biological and biochemical methods combined with cutting-edge imaging techniques, to elucidate metabolic changes during stage differentiation of the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii.

Our team is based at the University of Montpellier, providing state-of-the-art equipment and technical platforms. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team and a vibrant international PhD/postdoc community.

The post is suited for an organised, productive and communicative individual, preferably with previous experience in microbiology/parasitology.

Recent and extensive hands-on experience in the following techniques would be a plus:

– Molecular biology (construction of plasmids, etc…)

– Gene knock down/out by CRISPR-Cas

– Epifluorescence and/or confocal microscopy

If you are interested, please contact Sébastien Besteiro (sebastien.besteiro@umontpellier.fr), providing a brief statement of your research interests, your CV and contact details of three references.
