The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM), a leading center for fundamental interdisciplinary research in biology, is seeking to appoint at least two talented group leaders.
The Institute is comprised of 30 international research groups working in the fields of biophysics, cell biology, development, evolution, genetics and genomics. The IJM is affiliated with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the Université de Paris.
Candidates should work in one of the areas of fundamental biology covered by the Institute. Applications from individuals using quantitative and interdisciplinary approaches are particularly welcome. The successful applicants will be selected based on their scientific excellence and their potential to complement and synergize with existing research within the Institute. Applications both at the junior and senior levels will be considered.
The IJM benefits from a lively collaborative scientific environment, which is supported by excellent core facilities providing state-of-the-art light and electron microscopy, flow cytometry, proteomics, high throughput genomics and an animal house. The Institute is located in Paris 13th arrondissement. For detailed information, please visit our website (http://www.ijm.fr).
Upon their selection, successful applicants will then be expected to obtain secure funding as well as a position with the CNRS or Université de Paris. The Institute will provide strong guidance and assistance with these steps.
Candidates should provide the following information in a single pdf file: a cover letter explaining their motivation for joining the IJM; a document formatted using the application form found on the IJM web site comprising a C.V., a summary of scientific achievements, and proposed research program; and three reference letters.
Application and queries should be sent by e-mail to Dr. Michel Werner, the Institute Director (director@ijm.fr). The application should be received not later than 28 February 2021.
