À propos

Souhila MEDJKANE is an associate professor and has her own group within the team of Plasticity of Cellular Phenotypes. After a PhD in the team of Olivier Delattre at Curie Institute, Souhila MEDJKANE joined Richard Treisman’s lab in Cancer Research UK in London where she did her post-doc. She was recruited as Maitre de Conférence at the University Paris Diderot, in the team of Jonathan Weitzman in 2008. She worked on the impact of cell signaling in a model of reversible leukocyte transformation and the implication of epigenetic modifications in cancer progression. She received the HDR (authorization to direct research) in 2013 and she has been nominated at the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) in 2015 as a junior member. Since 2016, Souhila has her own group within the team headed by Jonathan Weitzman at the center of Epigenetics and Cell Fate at the University Paris-Cité. She has extended her research on the emerging field of non-histone methylation and how this critical post-translational modification contributes to cancer promotion. Souhila became associate professor in 2019 and she is the co-director of the Master 2 of Genetics at the University Paris-Cité since 2021.
