À propos
Eric Theveneau is an experimental cell and developmental biologist. ET studied biology at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in cell and developmental biology, in 2006, for investigating the transcriptional regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition in chick cephalic neural crest cells. He undertook his postdoctoral training at the University College London, London, UK. There, he studied mechanisms of cell cooperation during collective cell migration in Xenopus. His research work highlighted the ability of mesenchymal cells to undergo collective migration, a work for which he received the Wellcome Trust Value in People Award. In 2013, ET has been recruited as a Senior Staff Scientist by the French Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS, CR1) and appointed as a Group Leader at the Centre for Integrative Biology, Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France, where he opened a research group supported by a starting grant from the Fondation pour la Recherche Medicale. The main focus of his research is the control of epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity and cell migration using experimental strategies in avian and amphibian models.
