Congratulations to Sandra Carvalho !
Après la sélection du conseil d’administration, puis le vote des membres de la SBCF, le grand public de tout l’hexagone a pu s’exprimer lors des évènements de la “fête de la science” pendant tout le mois d’octobre.
L’image la plus plébiscitée par le grand public est celle de Sandra Carvalho, doctorante dans l’équipe d’Antoine Guichet à l’Institut Jacques Monod à Paris.
Cette image représente une vue dorsale d’une mouche du vinaigre Drosophila melanogaster au cours du développement embryonnaire (stade 14). Les marquages rouges et bleus révèlent des réseaux différents du cytosquelette d’actine. Le marquage vert correspond aux domaines d’adhésion entre cellules.

After the selection by the SBCF council, followed by the vote by SBCF members, the general public from all over France had the chance to express their preference during the “Fête de la Science” events held throughout October.
The most popular image with the general public was that of Sandra Carvalho, PhD student in the team of Antoine Guichet at Institut Jacques Monod in Paris.
This image shows a dorsal view of an embryo of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster at stage 14 of embryonic development. The red and blue labelling reveal different networks of the actin cytoskeleton. The green labelling corresponds to cell-cell adhesion domains.
