I am a PhD student looking at how changing the rate of stretch application affects the resultant cell behaviour in Xenopus laevis tissues. I am also looking at how the direct detection of changes in membrane tension by cells may play a role in this difference in behaviour. To do this, I am using the membrane tension probe, Flipper-TR, on in Xenopus laevis tissues that have been stretched at different rates.
