The Montpellier Cancer Research Institute (IRCM – U1194, www.ircm.fr) is seeking to recruit new Group Leaders to develop ambitious research programs on the biology and/or treatment of solid tumors. Applications from both junior and senior scientists will be considered. The IRCM currently hosts 17 research teams developing ground-breaking research in both basic cancer biology and translational oncology using a wide variety of approaches and models. Applications strengthening current research axes on tumor micro-environment, onco-signaling, onco-metabolism, drug-resistance, cancer genetics and epigenetics, immuno-oncology, antibody engineering, tumor biomarkers, and radiobiology, are particularly welcome.

The IRCM is located on the Campus of the Montpellier Cancer Hospital (ICM / CRLC Val d’Aurelle, (www.icm.unicancer.fr). It is at the heart of the Montpellier SIRIC comprehensive cancer center (www.montpellier-cancer.com), and operates in close collaboration with the clinical departments and the clinical research units at the Cancer Hospital (ICM) and at the University Hospital of Montpellier (CHU).

Candidates must either hold a French institutional position (INSERM, CNRS, University) or meet criteria to compete for such positions and / or for national (ATIP-Avenir, FRM) or international (ERC) start-up positions.

Appointed Group Leaders will benefit from office and equipped lab spaces, and access to a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities and technologies, either at IRCM or in close proximity through the Montpellier BioCampus consortium (www.biocampus.cnrs.fr). In particular, IRCM has in-house expertise to conduct cancer preclinical studies (PDTX models, orthotopic xenografts, animal PET/CT and SPEC/CT, irradiator, histopathology facility), to develop recombinant monoclonal antibodies (GenAc facility), and to perform state-of-the-art imaging mass cytometry (CYTOF /Helios and Hyperion systems) and cellular screenings.

Applications should be submitted to ao.ircm@inserm.fr with:

  1. Complete CV and list of publications
  2. Concise description of previous achievements and current research interests (2 pages)
  3. Future research plan (1 page)

Applicants must arrange for three reference letters to be sent directly to the IRCM Director (claude.sardet@inserm.fr).

Pre-selected candidates will be asked to provide a more detailed research proposal, and will be interviewed by the IRCM selection committee and the IRCM international Scientific Advisory Board.
