Institut Cochin is opening a position for a scientist wishing to establish his/her independent team

Institut Cochin is a leading French Biological Research Center, affiliated with Inserm, CNRS and Université Paris Cité, and located on the campus of Cochin Hospital. Its 41 independent research groups focus on basic as well as translational research domains, corresponding to the following scientific axes: Cancer, Immunology, Metabolism-Endocrinology, Microbiology, and Genetic and Cellular Plasticity.

The selection of candidates will be based on the outstanding quality of their scientific record and project, as well as their ability to interface with biologists and physicians of Institut Cochin and medical teams of Cochin Hospital.

The newly recruited group will benefit from extensive support by, and strong interactions with, the state-of-the-art core facilities of Institut Cochin. These facilities provide all the necessary skills and highly specialized equipment for cutting-edge research.

Appropriate laboratory space will be available to the selected group leader and an initial support package will be provided. The candidates must meet criteria to compete for national and international research funding. Those who do not have a permanent position in France will have to apply to the ERC and/or ATIP/Avenir programs and/or to French institutional research/teaching positions (CNRS, Inserm, Université Paris Cité).

Applications should include in one document:

  • CV (1-2 pages),
  • list of publications, patent applications, invited conferences, clinical and/or teaching experience, awards and grants
  • description (3-4 pages) of the research project

and be sent to direction.u1016@inserm.fr

Two letters of reference must be sent separately to the same address.

Deadline for applications: 27/01/2023.
